With 689 million active users daily in more than 200 countries, TikTok is one of the fastest growing social media platforms in the world today, grossly outpacing giants such as Facebook and Youtube. With its immersive interface, upbeat music, and trendy dance moves, TikTok is currently the 7th most used social media platform worldwide.
As TikTok videos become more prevalent in mainstream media, businesses are starting to see the value of this platform in connecting with their audiences and driving leads.
Not convinced? Let’s take a look at how these 7 Successful Singapore Businesses use TikTok to achieve their goals.
Tuti and Yuki Pet Store
First we have Tuti and Yuki (@tutiandyuki), Singapore’s most popular pair of cats with 3.2 million followers and 79.2 million likes on TikTok. This account was created in 2019 and posts cute and relatable content of the adorable felines in pretty costumes, averaging around 100k to millions of views per post. Don’t be fooled by their charming good looks (and paws) – these famous cats are one of the biggest TikTok stars in Singapore and have been mentioned in popular online media sites such as Vogue, Youthopia, etc.

After becoming TikTok-famous, Tuti and Yuki’s owners decided to run an online pet store, and were flooded with orders from their fans almost instantly. These orders came through TikTok Direct Messages (DMs), as well as their website. Occasionally, Tuti and Yuki would promote some of their products in TikTok videos, which are often well received by their followers. You’d also be surprised that payment partners (Grabpay, Hoolah), pet store suppliers, and ecommerce giants such as Shopee have also reached out to them for business collaborations!. Tuti and Yuki’s owners successfully capitalized on their strong TikTok following to propel their pet store to a whole new level.

Our local doctors are also jumping onto the TikTok scene to share concise and accurate medical advice. Throwing away the traditional stereotype of a white coat and a stethoscope, these doctors use trendy music, dances, and a little bit of humor to capture the hearts and minds of their audiences.
Through videos about vaccination tips, busting COVID-19 myths and health tips for the general public, these doctors can reach tens of thousands views per video. Their reach is not limited to just the walk-in patients that consult them in their clinics.

One good example would be Dr Tristan Peh @doctortristanpeh, a dentist who currently has 800k followers and regularly posts 3 – 4 times a day.
