Singapore, 6 December 2021 – Hashmeta, a leading digital marketing company, together with its social commerce arm, ShopperCliq, are empowering women entrepreneurs through a virtual Christmas Fair, in collaboration with MomBoss Academy.
MomBoss Academy was founded in 2018 by author and entrepreneur, Michelle Hon, to help moms fulfill their dreams by creating a purposeful source of income for themselves.
She currently provides various courses, forms of training, as well as comprehensive resources to help mom entrepreneurs succeed in their businesses. This initiative makes it possible for aspiring ‘mompreneurs’ to list their product offers on the ShopperCliq community platform, which would allow them to grow their businesses with ease through the support of community Group Buy Hosts a.k.a Key Opinion Consumers (KOCs).
“The journey of motherhood and entrepreneurship can be a lonely one. But it doesn’t have to be that way. We organised the MomBoss Virtual Christmas Fair to support mompreneurs. It’s a collective effort to reach a bigger audience and make sales together. It’s also a one-stop shop for anyone looking to purchase gifts for their loved ones during this festive season. Together, we are stronger!” said Michelle Hon, Founder & Business Coach from MomBoss Academy.
“MomBoss X’mas Fair was the first step I made towards entrepreneurship. The team behind Momboss X’mas Fair was excellent – I learned so much from this participation. Doing this ignited my passion to achieve more.” commented Vickie, owner of Uniqcare.
Over the past nine years, Hashmeta Group has learned a great deal from working with women while creating an ecosystem of support for women entrepreneurs.
Hashmeta operates several women-centric online marketing platforms including StarNgage – an influencer marketplace with over 8,000 local female influencers and celebrities; ShopperBoard – a fashion shopping app with over 200,000 local female shoppers; ShopperCliq – a F&B & lifestyle community Group Buy marketplace with over 1,000 local female Group Buy Hosts and Skoolopedia, an early childhood education and enrichment marketing portal with more than 30,000 moms in their local database.
In addition, Hashmeta also has an academy arm that is an Accredited Training Organisation (ATO) with their credentials verified by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and Workforce Singapore (WSG). This allows Hashmeta to deliver Digital Marketing courses which are certified by the Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) national credential system.
Entering the world of entrepreneurship can be daunting for anyone. This is especially so for a Stay-At-Home Mom (SAHM), who will have to face the challenges of setting up a business from scratch while balancing motherhood, finding the right customers, and building her business through technology.
“As a solopreneur and now, a first time mom, it felt wonderful to receive mentoring from an experienced entrepreneur and also be part of a community of mom-founders that are friendly and supportive. This gives me plenty of drive for juggling both my business and family. Our collaboration this holiday season made it possible to set up a unique Christmas Fair, comprising incredible female-founded brands. These women-owned businesses add great value to our communities and daily lives. They all have so much to offer – do support them!” enthuses Christine from The Moisturizers Co.
COVID-19 has disproportionately affected local households, especially those that need dual incomes to sustain their family. The team at Hashmeta Group are taking multiple steps in identifying opportunities to further expand and support the economic empowerment of women through social commerce.
“We have witnessed many women become self-employed as Group Buy Hosts on ShopperCliq. We are fortunate to be a part of this journey, to help many women who have stepped out of traditional roles to shine on social commerce. If you are a woman entrepreneur looking for success, feel free to join Hashmeta Women Entrepreneur Network to interact with fellow female entrepreneurs. We are more than happy to help you jumpstart your business. Let us help you with the nitty-gritty while you stay focused on your actual business,” quipped Helene Chung, Business Development Director at Hashmeta.
“As a social commerce enabler, ShopperCliq is providing end-to-end social commerce services to entrepreneurs, SMEs and brands that want to sell their products online through KOLs and KOCs. This B2B2C business model is still relatively new and spans a wide range of services. This includes product and campaign management, content production and graphic design, community management, marketing execution, integration of online sales channels and operations management, warehousing and order fulfillment, ” added Helene Chung.
“ShopperCliq is one of my favorite platforms! Not only do they have many unique and interesting items, they also offer an all-in-one convenient solution from liaising with suppliers, payment solutions and delivery to hosts or buyers. Even their customer service is top notch! I’ll continue to support ShopperCliq and hope you give it a try too. As a full-time working mom, it’s challenging to juggle between family, work and Group Buys. With a few hundred messages a day, I sometimes take days just to reply to one! I’m indeed blessed to have many kind, understanding and supportive Group Buy members who are always so patient with my co-hosts and I. It’s also heartening to see the kampung spirit revived by Group Buys. Strangers talking, helping and getting to know one another in our Tampines Groupbuys chats!” commented Joey, a full-time working mom and a Group Buy Host from Tampines (@tampines.groupbuys).
“As a SAHM, joining ShopperCliq as a host gives me the benefit of taking care of my baby and working-from-home at the same time. I also got to know my neighbours and found new ways to reconnect with them. Previously, my orders had to be manually processed, which was really time consuming. But after joining ShopperCliq, my group members are able to order directly from the mobile app. With ShopperCliq, I no longer had to deal with individual suppliers and this is basically a one-stop solution for me. This means I now get more family time! ShopperCliq also offers the latest in food trends and offers a wide array of products, so it’s easy to meet the different needs of my buyers.” added Apple Teng, a full time SAHM Group Buy Host from Jurong West.
“More and more mompreneurs are seizing opportunities by looking for support from enabling partners like ShopperCliq and Hashmeta. Entire online businesses can be run on their behalf. Alternatively, help can be rendered via a bespoke solution based on a service, which is exactly what the Hashmeta ecosystem is able to support. With e-commerce penetration in South East Asia accelerated even more by COVID-19, this is certainly a very exciting time for the industry,” Michelle Hon concluded.
